Wisdom Tooth Removal
Assessment and surgical removal of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth.
Wisdom teeth are removed when they cause problems — repeated infection around a partly erupted tooth, decay that cannot be restored, damage to the tooth in front, or cysts. Wisdom teeth that are healthy and causing no trouble are generally left alone.
Assessment includes a radiograph, and for lower wisdom teeth a CBCT scan is sometimes needed to see the relationship to the inferior alveolar nerve. That matters: it is the main risk to discuss before surgery.

Removal under local anaesthetic, with sedation where appropriate.
Recovery
Swelling and limited mouth opening for several days is usual.
