Bone Grafting & Sinus Lift
Rebuilding bone volume so an implant can be placed where bone has been lost.
When a tooth has been missing for a long time, the bone that used to support it shrinks. If there is not enough bone left to hold an implant, grafting can rebuild it. In the upper back jaw, where the sinus sits close to the ridge, a sinus lift raises the sinus floor to create height for an implant.
Grafting adds time to implant treatment — typically several months of healing before the implant can be placed, though in some cases a graft and implant are done together.
